About Dr. Grosshans

Retired clinical psychologist Beth Grosshans, PhD, splits her time between Manhattan, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and Vero Beach, Florida. Utilizing expertise gained in 25 years of working with patients, she authored Beyond Time Out: From Chaos to Calm, which offers parents guidelines on regaining power over their children to control unruliness and anxiety. Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Beth Grosshans served as a child development instructor at the Princeton Center for Teacher Education for Montessori educators around the country for 15 years. Since 1993, she provided consultations to area schools, including seminars and clinical training. 

Dr. Beth Grosshans earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Cincinnati where her father was a professor and administrator for 35 years. She attended Ohio State University while completing both a master’s degree and PhD in psychology before joining Harvard Medical School’s Department of Psychology as a clinical fellow. She entered private practice in 1994 after completing an internship at Boston Children’s Hospital and The Judge Baker Children’s Center in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units and as part of a sexual abuse treatment team. 

Outside of her work and travels, Beth Grosshans shares her talents as Managing Director on the Board of the New York Metropolitan Opera.
